CUBS

Cubs range from the age of 7 to 11 years.

At 11 years of age the Cub progresses into Scouts. Cubs start with about six weeks of getting to know each other and, after learning the meaning of the Cub Promise and Law, they are invested; where the new cub is presented with his first badges and is now entitled to wear full uniform.

We encourage parents to attend the Investiture Ceremony, which is held at the end of the evening and lasts for about 10 minutes. Following their investiture, Cubs pay a weekly subscription of $1.00, which helps to cover the cost of running the weekly program – activities, craft, badges, etc. (this still needs to be paid if you child misses a week)

The Cub Pack is comprised of four teams called Sixes, which are lead by older cubs called Sixers and Seconds. We have Red, White, Blue and Grey Six. Each cub will need a Cub Scout Record Book, which is available from our uniform cupboard. This book will assist them to progress through the Award System. The Award System allows cubs to work through three levels of activities, some compulsory and others where they will have a choice. The three levels are Bronze, Silver and Gold. Most compulsory tests are covered as a whole pack during normal meeting nights. Achievement Badges may also be earned at anytime. These are interest badges covering things the boys like to do or would like to learn. There are two levels of difficulty for each badge – green and red. Cubs also participate in pack holidays, hikes, day outings and boating activities.
